Meet the Team

Mark Howarter, D.C. - Director 

As owner and founder of The Chiropractic Experience Wellness Center here in beautiful Lawrence, KS, my mission has always been to inspire families with a lifestyle of wellness.  So, I have been so blessed over the past 12 years to do exactly what I LOVE!  Each day, I have the opportunity to help people, not just feel better, but BE better...whether it's playing with the kids, hitting a great golf shot, or just having some energy left at the end of the day to enjoy...Chiropractic WORKS!  And people get well...naturally, and without drugs.

My qualifications, I'm a Cum Laude graduate of Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, Missouri, and certified in pediatric chiropractic care through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. I've been entrusted to care for tiny babies to professional athletes and celebrities that you may know. I've also traveled to other countries like Guatemala, and Ghana, West Africa to bring chiropractic, hope and healing to those in need there. You might have seen me around the community, playing at the park with my kids, volunteering for local service organizations, playing in the praise team at my church or cheering for the Jayhawks.

Sandra Holland - Chiropractic Assistant/Insurance

Born and raised in Indiana, transplanted to Kansas in 2008, my most treasured role is as a wife and mother.  You may see my family and I at various KU events, church activities, walking our dog, or cheering our daughter in sports, vocal, and 4-H activities.
Since graduating from Indiana University with a degree in Public Affairs with a Business Concentration, I have had the pleasure of fundraising in a seven county area of Indiana for the Muscular Dystrophy Association and accounting functions for the University of Notre Dame.  I am excited to be a part of Dr. Mark’s team that encourages a lifetime of wellness.  My desire is to enhance your experience at Chiropractic Experience as it relates to your account.

Deon Prue - Chiropractic Assistant

Hi, my name is Deon and I work at the front desk.  You may see me around the community at various events at Haskell Indian Nations University, working out at Lawrence Athletic club, helping with events at the Haskell Light House, or volunteering at various organizations.
 I attended the University of Michigan nursing program for four years and gained a great deal of clinical experience from hospital, nursing home, and home health settings.  When our family moved to Lawrence and I started working at The Chiropractic Experience, I was immediately taken by Dr. Mark’s positive outlook on life and the way he relates to his patients.  I was attracted to helping people attain wellness and to more efficiently heal themselves. 
I really do love my work and the message of our wellness center.  There is hope.  I am so excited to share and help you attain that same hope! I am very enthusiastic about sharing a life-changing experience with you at the Chiropractic Experience!
